During December 2020, 53, 215 international travelers have visited Georgia, out of the 51,198 were international visitors. The number is 92% less as compared to the same period of the prior year. The total number of international travelers in 2020 was 1,749,308, down from 9,357,964 as of 2019.
With 20,067 visitors, Turkey was the top country by the number of international travelers visiting Georgia during Dec 2020. Following Turkey, the top five countries by visitors were as follows: Armenia - 9,654, Russia - 4,896, Georgia (nonresident) 4,855, and Azerbaijan- 3,998, the recent data of the Georgian National Tourism Administration reports.
As for the border type, during Dec 2020, the majority or 46,304 have entered Georgia by land, 3,905 by air, 770 by sea, and 219 by railway.
Out of the total number of visitors in December, 48,953 were males and only 2,245 – females.
