"Negative attitude towards the hydropower plants have developed over the years, hybrid war and propaganda have played a significant role in this. Our main strategic interest is to develop own energy, and this may not be to in the interest of our unfriendly forces outside the country”, - said the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava at the plenary sitting of the autumn session of the Parliament of Georgia, where she was heard in the format of "Minister Hour".

As for the statistics, according to the Minister, 105 projects with a capacity of 1068 MW are currently under study. In addition, 48 projects are transferred to the construction stage, which is an additional 1076 MW. Moreover, according to Natia Turnava, 9 wind and solar projects are ready with a total capacity of 600 megawatts.

As for the signed memorandums, Natia Turnava notes, that 74 memorandums with a capacity of up to 1000 MW were signed in 2019-2021.
