Session of the joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Georgia and Turkey will be held in Georgia after 2005, - Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava said after the meeting held between the Prime Minister of Georgia and the President of Turkey.

The meeting was held within the frame of the official visit of Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia to Turkey.

According to the Ministry, the meeting between the leaders of two countries is very important and result oriented. According to him, the conversation was dedicated to the issues of economic cooperation. Special emphasis was made on the development of bilateral trade. “Turkey is Georgia's number one trading partner. However, today it has been said that the turnover we have can be doubled and there is a potential for this”, Natia Turnava said.

Support of Georgian business will be another issue, which will be broadly considered at the session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Georgia and Turkey.

"At today's session, the Prime Minister of Georgia has raised the issue how to support Georgian businesses, which have trade with Turkey in order to make it as simple as possible. We will discuss the matter in more details at the Joint Commission,” said Natia Turnava, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.
