TV Kavkasia appeals to the Minister of Finance and disseminates a statement.

According to the statement, On August 14, 2019 it become publicly known about the accumulated tax debt of TV broadcasters over the years: Rustavi 2 – 28 million GEL, TV-company Imedi – 19 million GEL, TV-Company Maestro – 8 million GEL.

TV Kavkasia had noted, that part of the TV companies were not paying taxes for years and the state was still supporting them.

“It turned out to be really surprising to us. The attitude of the state is shocking, as they use a selective approach towards the same business representatives and put them in unequal condition in terms of competition. They directly violate the constitution which notes that the state should promote development of free entrepreneurship and competition (Article 6, paragraph 2)”, TV Kavkaksia notes in its statement.
According to TV-company, Kavkasia will fully repay their current debt if TV Imedi, Rustavi 2 and Maestro cover arrears towards the budget, which amounts to 55 million GEL.

To remind, the Minister of Finance addressed TV broadcasters about the tax debt accumulated over the years, and called on them to submit the proposal for debt restructuring and also to start paying off current debts.
