Two cases of omicron have been confirmed in Georgia. The head of the NCDC Amiran Gamkrelidze stated about it.
 
He said that 10 suspicious cases were being studied in the country, of which 2 cases were confirmed.
 
"We investigated up to 10 suspicious cases, but 8 were the" Delta "variant and in 2 cases the existence of" Omicron "was established. Both citizens are Georgians and have 26 contacts, which we are investigating. Both patients are isolated in their apartments and the virus is mild," Amiran Gamkrelidze said, adding that the virus was expected to spread in the country, but not very quickly.
 
In both cases, the infected person is a citizen of Georgia. Both of them were abroad, namely one in the US and the other in Dubai. They have 26 contacts.
