Ukraine Already Spent Almost $290 Million on COVID-19 Vaccination

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has already spent UAH 7.9 billion ($288,676,033) on vaccination of Ukrainian citizens against COVID-19, according to Chairman of the Accounting Chamber Valeriy Patskan.
 
"By the end of June, the Ministry of Health should use UAH 10.5 billion ($383,683,335) to purchase COVID-19 vaccines. To date, UAH 7.9 billion has been paid under the budget program, of which UAH 1.1 billion ($40,195,397) in early June,” Patskan said when commenting on the situation with the use of funds for the purchase of COVID-19 vaccines, Ukrinform reports.
 
He noted that UAH 7.8 billion ($285,021,906) of these funds were paid for the purchase of vaccines, UAH 41 million ($1,498,192) for syringes, UAH 3.8 million ($138,856) for solutions and UAH 18 million ($657,742) for medical waste containers.

"It is planned to purchase 38 million doses of vaccines using these funds. The budget envisages that the average cost of a vaccine with all consumables is almost UAH 276 ($10),” Patskan added.
