Ambassador of Ukraine to Georgia Ihor Dolhov considers Anaklia Port Project as a new opportunity for maritime relations between Georgia and Ukraine. He said this at the conference "Black Sea - Georgia's Opportunities and Challenges", held in Biltmore.
“One of the major challenges in the relations between Georgia and Ukraine is maritime communication. We are interested to have as much communication as possible. We expect to expand these relations, which is critically important to Ukraine, especially since the Russian Federation has launched aggression against Ukraine. The Black Sea, as a means of transportation, should became even more important to us. Of course, commercial traffic between the Georgian ports (Batumi and Poti) and the Ukrainian ports is still essential.
