“Russia’s military aggression and breach of Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity causes human suffering and threatens the whole world.
These actions contradict the fundamental aims of UNWTO.
As Secretary-General, it is my duty to call on all Member States to consider suspending the Russian Federation from membership, following UNWTO Statutes”, - writes UNWTO Sec. General.
UNWTO is the United Nations World Tourism Organization, which unites 160 member countries and territories. If Russia is expelled from the organization, this will be the first case among UN agencies.
