The US international goods and services deficit fell 1.3% in May, compared to the previous month, the US Commerce Department's Census Bureau said on Thursday.

The trade deficit came in at approximately $85.5 billion in May, down $1.1 billion from April's revised figure of $86.7 billion.

The market expectation for the deficit figure was to come in at $84.9 billion.

While exports in May came in at $255.9 billion, $3 billion more than April; imports were $341.4 billion, an increase of $1.9 billion from the month before.
