USAID’s Grants Have Created More Than 1,000 Jobs In Georgia

USAID’s grants support the growth of Georgia’s agriculture sector have created more than 1,000 jobs and created a cash market of almost $3 million for more than 700 small Georgian farms.

Yesterday, Ambassador Degnan was in Kaspi to visit one of the Georgian companies that has partnered with USAID: @tiemti.ge. The Ambassador watched the production process that uses upgraded equipment obtained by TMT through their USAID partnership. She discussed with TMT’s ownership how the partnership increased their marketing effectiveness and about TMT’s exports to the U.S., EU, and Middle East.

Ambassador Degnan’s visit is part of the U.S. government’s recognition of 30 years of partnership with Georgia. USAID has been part of that partnership since the beginning. The USAID Agriculture Program is part of our ongoing work that is creating jobs and developing a more inclusive and modern economy.
