Paata Imnadze, Deputy Director of the National Center for Disease Control, explains why Georgia has not yet received the covid-vaccine.

As he told Formula, Georgia has a strict approach regarding the covid-vaccine.

"We are waiting for the Western covid-vaccine, we have very strict rules, all vaccines that will be imported must be recognized by the World Health Organization," - said Paata Imnadze.

He also cited the example of Hungary, noting that the country, a member state of the EU, changed strict laws and received Chinese and Russian covid-vaccines.

To the question, whether Georgia did not fulfill the conditions of the vaccine manufacturer Pfizer, Imnadze answered that it was a lie.

"The Georgian side has changed the legislation. The law now considers what Pfizer requires" - he added.

Georgia is waiting for the first batch of the vaccine of Astrazeneca and Pfizer by the end of March.
