Village Ghvankiti in Terjola municipality of Imereti region, the western part of Georgia, put under lockdown and quarantined from 6:00am today.
According to the local government, the decision was made to prevent large-scale spread of the coronavirus.
Reportedly, 5 checkpoint have been set up, which will be patrolled by the police force.
“Yesterday, 4 more people tested positive for the coronavirus. There are a total of 10 infected people in the village,” Zviad Shalamberidze, Governor of Imereti region, said.
