We have the means and if necessary, we will introduce more Chinese vaccines. All this will allow us to overcome this pandemic together, - the Prime Minister of Georgia said during the nomination of the mayoral candidate of the "Georgian Dream", Kapiton Zhorzholiani in Mestia.
According to Gharibashvili, about one million people will be vaccinated in the next 10 days.
"Some of them will be vaccinated once and some will be vaccinated twice. By maintaining this rate, we can expect 2 million people to be vaccinated by the end of September. Listening to what our doctors and specialists have to say, I understand that maybe 1 million people have already had Covid.
Our epidemiologists tell us that September will be the biggest challenge for us and the healthcare system, September will be a difficult period. Added to this is the election campaign. We all need to get through September together, get vaccinated effectively, hold elections safely. According to our predictions, October will be a period of stability. Most importantly, it will allow us not to lock up our economy and thousands of our citizens at home without income and livelihoods. I want to point out all this to our population, to show our vision. Together, by the end of September, we must be strong, we must get vaccinated. We must not close the economy, but we might have to impose local restrictions, but it should not affect the growth rate of the economy as a whole," - said Gharibashvili.
