“We have 18% economic growth in January, this pace needs to be maintained, so now is not the time to give opportunity certain opposition radicals and marginals to destabilize," - said the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili at the government meeting.

So, there is not time to give the opportunity to certain opposition radicals and marginals to destabilize, on the contrary, we should continue to build the country, build it and calmly manage the process.

I believe that the international community will reach to end the war in Ukraine. This is a tragedy and the parties will negotiate in the coming days," Irakli Gharibashvili said.

The National Statistics Office of Georgia published a report today on economic growth in the country. According to the preliminary data, the estimated real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate in January 2022 amounted to 18% y-o-y. In January 2022 the estimated real growth compared to the same period of the previous year was observed in the following activities: Manufacturing, Transportation and storage, Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, Trade, Hotels and restaurants, Arts, entertainment and recreation, Real estate activities and Mining and quarrying. A decline was registered in Construction, Information and communication.
