According to Alexander Ratishvili, the President of the Taxpayers Union, the private sector is extremely upset due to the lack of answers from Tbilisi Energy about the gas tariff increase for the commercial sector from January 3. The gas price will be grown by 24 tetri.
Ratishvili says that the situation is worsened by the situation and chaos created after the intervention of the state.
"After it, we published the statement and requested a closed-door meeting, where this tariff would be discussed, we also stressed that the meeting would be held only with the associations. We give ourselves the right to make the request because "Tbilisi Energy" has the status of a natural monopoly and this puts the company in an isolated space.
We are extremely disappointed. We have no more leverage. Most importantly, we heard a statement from the Minister of Economy that the gas tariff would not be changed. Within hours, however, the company said their decision would not change. We have a very unfavorable picture: the Minister of Economy declares one, while the company - another, and these are preceded by statements that negotiations are underway. We have complete chaos and misunderstanding, which will help the development of business, no one knows," - said Ratishvili.
