There was a shortage of vaccines in the country, but we shipped more vaccines than needed, - said the head of the Georgian government Irakli Gharibashvili before the government session.

He has named those vaccines, which are administrated in the country and explained that the vaccination rate is insufficient.

“One million doses of Pfizer were shipped in the country 2 weeks ago. One million doses of Pfizer will be shipped on each weekend. It is also planned to receive a gift from the US government in the near future. An additional 1.5 million doses of Chinese "Sinovac" vaccine were shipped yesterday. However, the most important argument for our citizens is that the number of infections and mortality rates among vaccinated persons is very low. So, this is the only practical protection for our citizens, our health and life, family members and children, "- said Irakli Gharibashvili and called on Georgian citizens to be involved in the vaccination process.
