Company Villa Dzara Capital, operating in HORECA sector positively evaluates the government’s decision to ease several COVID-related regulations. As of the decision of Coordinating Council, restaurants and food facilities in Georgia are allowed to serve guests only outdoor on weekends from May 22. In addition, the curfew will be in force from 23:00 to 05:00.

The company which operates Machakhela, Samikitno, Kinklis Karkhana, Fiornino and Billy Burke’s Irish Pub declares that they were expecting to ease the restriction from late this month.

Vano Sturua, founder of Villa Dzara Capital declares, that the company will open those food facilities, which have been shut down for months.

“We will open 15 facilities. Some of our restaurants were working on delivery services, however, due to weekend restrictions, opening many of them made no sense. Now we have the opportunity to open some of them," - said Vano Sturua.

The founder of the company also talks about the damage caused by the pandemic and says that their group had to close 30 food facilities before the pandemic, and 5-6 restaurants were closed during the crisis.

“All food facilities are working on a loss. We did not stop operating to keep our staff. We were able to maintain the facilities financially with the help of the bank. We think that the company will have an unfavorable financial situation after that, but I believe that the situation will improve slightly. Because of the pandemic, people find it difficult to go to restaurants and the second issue is financial problems. Our restaurants are mainly targeted at the middle segment, who can have financial problems amid pandemic, so this will affect us as well”, explains the founder of Villa Dzara Capital, adding that prices at their restaurants have risen slightly by about 3-4%, while price increase must be 30-40% based on GEL depreciation.
