The number of infections is increasing, but there is no proportional increase in mortality, - Deputy Minister of Health Tamar Gabunia said after the meeting of the Interagency Council.

“The mortality rate remains at 1.37%, but the number of cases is increasing, although a proportional increase in mortality is not seen, which is a sign that we are not dealing with particularly severe cases.

However, the rate is high and noteworthy. That is why, we need vaccination to reduce these cases. It is not true that the death rate has significnalty changed in the group," Gabunia said.

38 citizens died from coronavirus within the last 24 hours.
