General Director of VTB Bank Archil Kontselidze expects that there will be positive changes in mortgage lending in terms of banking regulations.
However, Kontselidze does not expect changes in consumer lending.
“Demand has increased, moreover lending has become much easier and mortgage portfolio is steadily increasing. There is probably talk of lowering the demand for more revenue studies in the consumer portfolio, but we have not yet made significant steps.
Increase of refinancing rate has stabilized GEL. Recent moves by the National Bank have been effective and positively affected both inflation and currency stability. Right steps are being taken at this point. I don't see much change in consumer direction, but we do see positive changes in mortgage lending”, said Kontselidze.
