Ukraine exported a record amount of goods worth of USD 68 billion abroad in 2021. The figure was up by 38.4% y-o-y. While, imports stood at USD 72.8 billion, up by 34% y-o-y.
Ukraine's major export country was China, where it exported USD 8 billion worth of goods last year. Poland was on second place with USD 5.2 billion, Italy - third place with USD3.5 billion, Russia - was on fourth place with USD 3.4 billion and Germany – fifth place with USD 2.9 billion.
Ukraine's Major Export Commodities In 2021:
1. Ferrous metals - USD 14 billion, an increase of 81%;
2. Cereals - USD 12.3 billion, an increase of 31%;
3. Vegetable oils - USD 7 billion, up 22%
4. Foods of plant origin - USD 3.8 billion, an increase of 13%;
5. Machinery / equipment - USD 3.1 billion, an increase of 22.5%;
6. Chemicals - USD 2.8 billion, up 39%;
7. Timber - USD 2 billion, up 42.1%;
8. Live animals and animal products, including meat - USD 1.3 billion, an increase of 13%;
9. Polymers - USD 1.1 billion, up 62%;
10. Textiles - USD 865 million, an increase of 11%.
As for Georgia, the country is the sixth-largest trade partner for Ukraine and the trade turnover has made up USD 759 million in 2021, including USD 307 million accounted for Georgia’s exports, while USD 451 million for the imports.
