In January-July of this year, 7,135 tons of packaged medicinal products worth USD 234 million were imported into Georgia.
In the same period last year, USD 203.7 million were spent from Georgia to purchase medicines and 5,362 tons of goods entered the country. Accordingly, in the current year, the value of imports increased by 14.9%, and the volume of purchased goods increased by 33%.
As for the countries, the main import market was Turkey in January-July of last years, and the value of the import of medicines from this direction increased by 36.5%, and the volume by 98.8%, which is almost doubled.
The TOP-10 import markets for Georgia in the first 7 months of this year are as follows:
1. Turkey - USD 37.7 million, 538 tons;
2. Germany - USD 23.8 million, 497 tons;
3. Switzerland - USD 22.3 million, 46 tons;
4. France - USD 19.5 million, 92 tons;
5. Hungary - USD 16.3 million, 149 tons;
6. India - USD 12.3 million, 321 tons;
7. Russia - USD 9.5 million, 352 tons;
8. Ukraine - USD 8.9 million, 371 tons;
9. Slovenia - USD 8.7 million, 120 tons;
10. Italy - USD 6.2 million, 150 tons.
