According to official data released by Geostat today, in the first quarter of 2021, only $125.4 million in foreign direct investment (FDI) entered Georgia, which is 28.3% less than the previous year. The largest amounts of FDI came from the United Kingdom ($ 88 million), Russia ($ 32.9 million), and Turkey ($24.1 million).
In the first quarter of 2021, the largest foreign direct investment was in the financial sector, reaching $ 93.9 million, followed by the energy sector with $ 35.5 million and the manufacturing sector with $ 27.9 million.
