Commercial banks in Georgia lent 38.23 billion GEL in April 2021, show the latest data by the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

According to the report, 18.97 billion GEL was spent on business loans, while 19.25 billion GEL – on private individuals and entrepreneurs.

According to a report published by the National Bank, industrial sector takes the largest share of the loan portfolio by sectors.

The volume of business loans totals to 18.97 billion GEL.

The credit portfolio by sectors is as follows:

Industry - 4.6 billion GEL;
Trade - 3.8 billion GEL;
Construction - 2.6 billion GEL;
Real Estate Operations, Surveys, Commercial Activities - 2.26 billion GEL;
Hotels and restaurants - 2.1 billion GEL;
Agriculture, forestry, fishing - 725 million GEL;
Financial intermediation - 631 million GEL;
Transport and Communications - 591 million GEL.

Loans to households (private individuals and entrepreneurs) - 19.25 billion GEL, including:

Loans to private individuals - 16.75 billion GEL;
Loans to entrepreneurs - 2.49 billion GEL.
