The World Health Organization (WHO) has authorized the Sinopharm vaccine, making it the sixth vaccine to have this authorization.
This is stated in a statement posted on Twitter by the organization.
"This afternoon, WHO gave Emergency Use Listing to Sinopharm Beijing’s #COVID19 vaccine, making it the sixth vaccine to receive WHO validation for safety, efficacy, and quality." the WHO said in a Twitter message.
The Sinopharm vaccine is manufactured by the Chinese National Pharmaceutical Group (CNPGC).
The use of "Sinopharm" vaccine in Georgia started on May 4.
