The Ministry of Finance published a report. As of February 2023, Georgia's foreign debt amounted to USD 8.26 billion. This amount was GEL 130 million more compared to the same period of 2022. However, due to the strengthening of the national currency against EUR and USD, the foreign debt amounts to GEL 21.7 billion, which is 3.9 billion less y-o-y.

Georgia owes the largest amount of money to the Asian Development Bank, which the country took for the development of the largest infrastructure projects. In second place is the World Bank Group, whose credits are also mainly used for infrastructure projects. The European Investment Bank ranks on third place.
