"The interest rate spread on GEL and USD deposits is grown up to 9.5 percentage points, which are caused by the refinancing rate growth and the requirements for the lariization", Eva Bochorishvili, head of the "Galt & Taggart" Research Department told Business Morning.
According to Bochorishvili, deposit trends on international markets must be taken into consideration.
Interest rates in USD and EUR are on the minimum on the international markets. This impacts Georgia's market as well, but the rates may tighten abroad, and if at this stage, investing in GEL is attractive, this may change".
