Kakha Kaladze, Tbilisi Mayor and former Minister of Energy of Georgia declares, that Georgia has been buying cheaper electricity for years and the situation is the same now. This is how Kakha Kaladze answered the journalist's question why Georgia buys electricity from Russia under sanctions.

"We have several opportunities to import electricity - Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia. Even during my ministry, Georgia was importing electricity from those countries that offered the best price. The government makes correct decision event now, because finally, our population pays the electricity bill. Which country offers cheaper electricity, Georgia will buy the electricity from that country”, - Kaladze said.
