The Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia, says that if the economic crisis deepens, social assistance will be reconsidered, including compensation for the unemployed.
Representatives of the media inquired whether the social assistance, which provides payment of 200 GEL compensation for the unemployed and expires at the end of October, will continue.
"We are doing everything we can to provide more oxygen to the economy, stop job cuts, and then start a speedy recovery. All this is done so that the state no longer needs such social assistance. Still, if we see that the economic crisis is deepening, we will return to this issue and discuss it," Gakharia explained.
