"The 2021 budget is quite tense, I think it will be difficult to find additional subsidies," - this is how the President of the National Bank Koba Gvenetadze answered the question of BM.GE, whether it is planned to continue the mortgage loan subsidy program.
However, some developer companies are demanding to continue the subsidy program, because the it is vital for the business during the crisis. The country’s chief banker says he has no information on the issue, but notes the country has no additional subsidy resources as of the given budget for 2021.
"I think this part of the subsidy program really has an effect, as real estate is important for the financial stability of the country. As for the extension of the program, as far as I know, next year's budget is quite tense, the deficit is quite high in this case, I think it will be difficult to find additional subsidies," - said the President of the National Bank Koba Gvenetadze.
