Wine Earnings From Exports Increase Despite Pandemic

The Ministry of Agriculture reports, that the volume of Georgian wine exports and its value has increased.

According to the agency, up to 28.3 million bottles (0.75 l) of wine were exported to 55 countries in January-April 2021, which was 15% more compared to the same period of 2020.

The value of exported wine increased by 7% to 65 million USD.

According to the Ministry, exports to strategic Georgian wine markets have increased:

• Poland - 2% (1,841,192 bottles);
• China - 19% (1,553,533 bottles);
• Lithuania - 71% (356,748 bottles);
• USA - 2% (325 468 bottles);
• Estonia - 3% (228,592 bottles);
• Germany - 1% (229,527 bottles);
• UK - 6% (157,932 bottles).

252 companies exported different volumes of Georgian wine and alcoholic beverages.

According to them, the country earned 106.3 million USD as a result of exports of wine and alcoholic beverages, which is 15% more compared to the same period of the last year.
