Selling of travelcards for public transport in Tbilisi is resumed. From today, the citizens can buy travel cards in Tbilisi Metro, as well as season tickets are available at express branches of the Bank of Georgia (BOG).

The point was that selling of travel cards was suspended for a day due to the typo found on the travel cards, where "Sabagaro" was written instead of "Sabagiro".

Yesterday, Bank of Georgia stated that season ticket sales were suspended due to that mistake.

“Bank of Georgia manages the payment system in public transport, while the production and sale of seasonal tickets is provided by MS +, a subsidiary company of Bank of Georgia. Unfortunately, the company made a slight inaccuracy. There was found typo error on the cards and issuance of season tickets was stopped on January 9 for a day”, - Bank of Georgia said.

Bank of Georgia explained that citizens, who purchased travel cards with typo error would be able to exchange cards with free of charge.

In late 2021, Tbilisi City Hall announced that fare system for public transport would change from February 1.

For a one-time trip, a passenger will have to pay 1 GEL, with which they can use bus, minibus, subway or the Bagebi-Maglivi ropeway for 90 minutes. If a passenger buys a season ticket, they will no longer pay 80 tetri in a separate minibus and will be able to use any municipal transport.

From February 1, passengers can choose between an unlimited 90-minute card, unlimited one-day card, unlimited one-week card or unlimited one-month card.

•An unlimited one-day card will cost 3 GEL. Card holders will be able to travel by any type of public transport throughout the day.

•An unlimited one-week card will cost 20 GEL. Card holders will be able to travel by any type of public transport throughout the week.

•An unlimited one-month card will cost 40 GEL, which will enable passengers to travel by any type of public transport during the whole month.

•An unlimited three-month card will cost 100 GEL.

•An unlimited sixth-month card will cost 150 GEL.

•An unlimited one-year card will cost 250 GEL.
