Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a law providing for the allocation of UAH 8 billion ($295.3 mln) from Ukraine's state budget for 2021 to pay UAH 1,000 ($37) to all Ukrainians who were fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the parliament's website.

The law provides for an additional increase of UAH 5 billion ($184.6 mln) in the expenditures of the general fund of the state budget under the new budget program "The provision of assistance under the eSupport program,” Ukrinform reports.

It also increases by UAH 2.2 billion ($81.2mln) the expenditures of the general fund of the state budget under the budget program "Measures related to the fight against the acute respiratory disease COVID-19 caused by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and its consequences."

These expenditures are to be covered at the expense of UAH 10.2 billion ($376.6 mln) worth of value added tax revenues from goods imported into the customs territory of Ukraine.

The Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on December 2, 2021.

The eSupport program, initiated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, will be launched on December 19 and will continue next year. Under the program, citizens will be able to receive support from the state in the amount of UAH 1,000.

Using these funds, they can buy a season ticket to the gym or fitness club, visit a cinema, theater, museum, concert hall, buy tickets for travel within the country, or buy books.

Those eligible for the program are adult citizens who were fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and have a respective certificate in the Diia app.
