Giorgi Khishtovani, director of the PMC Research Center highlights that the private sector will work on May 4-11, despite these days are announced as day-offs, only employees of the public sector will have a holiday for this period. Khishtovani notes, that the situation will be vague finally.

"I do not believe that the holidays mean that people will stop working. We must not assume that the companies will stop operating early May. We should consider, how correct is to announce such holidays, when part of the citizens cannot stop working. This will give us a general misunderstanding. The holidays are announced mainly for the public sector as the private sector will continue to operate”, Khishotavi notes.

Director of the PMC Research Center explains the positive side of this holiday and notes, that we can see whether the country needs such a large state apparatus or not.

“We had such an example in winter. Winter holidays showed that such a large state apparatus is not necessary for the country," said Giorgi Khishtovani, director of the PMC Research Center.

The Government of Georgia, a week following the Easter on May 4-11 has been declared public holiday in Georgia to curb the possible spread of the coronavirus.
