The National Bank of Georgia (Geostat) has published statistical data showing the migration of 2022. According to the document, 101,000 citizens emigrated from Georgia last year, which was 21,000 more than in 2021.
Despite the increase in emigration, Georgia had a positive migration balance last year, which was due to the record number of immigrants.
The total number of emigrants in 2022 was 125 thousand, and the number of immigrants was 180 thousand.
The number of immigrants by the countries:
1. Russian Federation - 62,304 people;
2. Georgia - 54,405 people;
3. Ukraine - 20,716 people;
4. Belarus - 13,361 people;
5. India - 3,948 people.
