The inaugural session of Georgia’s 11th convocation parliament convenes today at noon, led by its oldest member, Lado Kakhadze.
Newly elected members will be registered with temporary mandates issued by the Central Election Commission (CEC) before the session begins.
Key items on the agenda include certifying the mandates of all 150 members and electing the Parliament Speaker, vice-speakers, and committee chairs.
According to official CEC results, five political entities have entered parliament, with the Georgian Dream holding 89 mandates. The remaining seats are allocated to the Coalition For Change, Unity – National Movement, Strong Georgia, and Gakharia-For Georgia. The opposition parties have reiterated their intention to boycott the new parliament.
