The rate of online payments in Georgia has increased sharply. Statistics from the National Bank of Georgia show that online payments with cards of Georgian banks increased by 33% annually. In the 11 months of last year, 17.3 billion GEL worth of transactions were carried out online. Among them, between October and November, the monthly volume of transactions exceeded 1.8 billion GEL.
Statistics show that in recent years, online payments have become increasingly popular. The figures for 11M2024 are almost 2.5 times higher than the figures for the same period in 2022, and compared to the figures for 11 months of 2021, there is a 195% increase.

Reminder, online payments have become particularly active since March 2023, and in terms of value, more than 1 billion GEL of transactions are being carried out monthly. In addition, in recent months, up to 21 million transactions have been carried out via the Internet monthly.
