A 19-megawatt wind power plant built by "Zemo Wind" near the villages of Niabi and Akhalkalaki in Kaspi district is set to start test operations in the coming days, according to an agreement with the Electricity System Commercial Operator (ESCO). The facility’s capacity is 18.75 MW, and it was registered by the electricity market operator on March 2, 2026 for trial operation and comprehensive testing.

The wind farm features Chinese Goldwind turbines with a tower height of 105 meters, rotor diameter of 171 meters, and 6.25 MW output per turbine. It is expected to generate 67 million kWh of electricity annually.

Zemo Wind was founded in 2022 and is fully owned by entrepreneur Sulkhan Papashvili. The project is financed through a loan from the Bank of Georgia.

Papashvili also owns 50% of the company Pirveli, which is developing a 112 MW wind farm in villages Uplistsikhe and Shavsani in Inner Kartli, highlighting ongoing investment in Georgia’s renewable energy sector.
