Owners of outdoor cafes in Tbilisi will be exempted from lease payments until January 2022, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced.
According to him, the mentioned privileges have been in force until February 1, but they are extended.
The decision aims to support small and medium-size business owners (SMEs) amid the pandemic.
“We made a bulk of good decisions to support SMEs. Small and medium-sized business owners who have leased municipality-owned areas have been exempted from lease payments until February 2021. Since some restrictions are still in force and the economy is not fully reopened, we decided to prolong this decision until January 2022,” Kaladze underscored.
There are up to 200 Outdoor cafes that will benefit from this decision, Kaladze noted.
As for certain entities that have already paid the rent, Kaladze added that it would be considered as advance tax.
