The Georgian parliament has approved the 2019 budget with 91 votes. 9 MPs voted against the approved budget. The 2019 government budget is 13,090 million GEL, 630 million GEL more than the current government budget. Next year’s budget revenues will be 12,863.8 million GEL. With regards to macroeconomic parameters, the government expects 4.5% growth next year, and inflation is forecast to be 3%. As for the budget deficit, it is predicted to come to 2.6%. . A large portion of next year’s budget expenditures will be spent in three areas: Health, Infrastructure, and Education. The allocated funds for the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs came to 3,968.4 million GEL, the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure was assigned 2 billion GEL, and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports received 1,508.5 million GEL.
