LEPL Youth Agency published a report. According to the document, the research was conducted in 10 municipalities (Dmanisi, Gori, Kobuleti, Kutaisi, Mestia, Oni, Ozurgeti, Signagi, Tianeti, Bolnisi) among the citizens under the age groups of 18-25 and 26-29.
According to the survey, 39% of adult-youth surveyed say they are employed.
As for the young people aged 18 to 26 declares, that more than a quarter (28%) are employed, half (50%) of them is looking for a job, while 22% are not employed and they are not even trying to find a job.
Other findings were also identified:
- The majority of young people aged 26 to 30 (65%) say they are employed, about a third (31%) are looking for a job, while 4% are not employed, although they are not looking for a job.
- 36% of adult respondents declare that are employed in the public service, while 45% - in a private organization.
- The majority of surveyed employed young adults (64%) say they are satisfied or very satisfied with the job, while about a third (30%) express a neutral attitude towards their job. Only 7% of young people surveyed say they are dissatisfied with their job.
- The young adults, who are not employed (61%) name the following reasons for unemployment: lack of employment services (28%), lack of information about the vacancy (23%), lack of professional skills (16%) and the absence of such relatives as, who would help them in employment (15%).
- When asked what would help them in employment, adult respondents most often mentioned the improvement of professional knowledge and skills (48%) and internship opportunities (47%).
- In general, more than half of the young people say that the issue of employment (59%), job security (58%) and job stability (56%) are problematic issues.
- More than half of the young people say that they do not have enough finances (53%) and the issue of their financial independence (55%) is problematic.
