2,844 New Covid Cases, 29 People Died

According to the information published on Stopcov.ge, within the intensive testing, 38,042 tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, including 23,889 tests with antigen tests and 14,153 PCR tests.
 
As a result of the testing, 2,844 newly confirmed cases of virus infection were detected in the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country is 631,563.
 
As for the positive rate, as of October 8, the daily rate of positive is 7.48%, for the last 14 days - 5.94% and for 7 days - 7.01%.
 
• In the last 24 hours, 814 people recovered from the virus, while the total number of people recovered increased to 598,468.

• 29 new cases of coronavirus death have been reported in the last 24 hours. A total of 9,221 people have died from the virus since the pandemic spread.
 
Out of 2,844 new cases of infection detected in the country today:
 
775 cases were identified in Tbilisi, Adjara - 127, Imereti - 607, Kvemo Kartli - 154, Shida Kartli - 147, Guria - 116, Samegrelo - Zemo Svaneti - 339, Kakheti - 368, Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 85, Samtskhe-Javakheti - 74, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 52.
 
Currently active cases of infection at 23 848 of which:

• 4 203 people are treated in hospitals, including 1 402 in Tbilisi hospitals, 381 in Adjara and 991 in Imereti.
• At this stage, 945 people are seriously ill, including 315 in Tbilisi, 83 in Adjara and 314 in Imereti. There are 257 people on artificial respiration, 134 of them in Tbilisi, 25 in Adjara and 32 in Imereti.
• 667 people are accommodated in clinical hotels, including 340 in Tbilisi and 179 in Adjara.
• 18,978 people are undergoing treatment for the virus at home.
• 67 people are placed in quarantine areas, including 60 in Tbilisi and 7 in Adjara.
• A total of 25,229 people have been transferred from the state border to quarantine areas from October 6, 2020 to October 8, 2010.
• 17,646 people are in self-isolation at this stage.
