Tbilisi City Hall is starting rehabilitation of Gudiashvili Square. The aim of the project is to restore one of the oldest neighborhoods of the capital from the architectural point of view, develop a big tourist rout in the historical part of the city and create comfortable and safe environment for local residents.
Rehabilitation works include stages of rehabilitation of engineering and communication networks, restoration and rehabilitation of cultural heritage monuments and residential buildings. Within the framework of the rehabilitation project, about 30 buildings will be subject to rehabilitation, which include up to 20 cultural heritage monuments.
After the rehabilitation, illumination will be arranged for the entire area, street infrastructure will be installed and adapted for people with special needs. The rehabilitation project, with total value of 50 mln GEL, will be funded from the Tbilisi City Hall budget.
Rehabilitation of Lado Gudiashvili Square and adjacent streets will be completed before the end of 2019.
