Zuka Maisashvili, founder of Winery "Gvinuka", located in Ambrolauri Municipality, Racha region declares that wineries face difficulties this year, as the dry summer and hail destroyed 50% of the grape harvest.
"We have a very difficult harvesting, grape quality is low. It is also worth noting that rains have been announced for the next few days. We do not know what will be saved in the face of massive rains," - says Zuka Maisashvili.
According to Maisashvili, wine prices will not increase, but the quantity will be halved.
The National Wine Agency predicts that the harvest volume will be between 1500-2000 tons this year. More than 40 companies are involved in the harvest accommodation process.
Winery "Gvinuka" was established in 2018. The company produces 10 to 15 thousand bottles of wine annually, 60-70% of which is exported.
"Gvinuka" produces 4 types of wine: Dzelshavi, Mujuretuli, Tetra and Tsolikauri.
