The Minister of Economy of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili, spoke about the development of the middle corridor during the Minister's Hour in the Parliament.
According to him, a decision has already been made to form a joint company that will coordinate future cargo shipments from China to the corridor.
"Such a company exists, it is a joint agreement between the railways of Georgia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. It will serve container cargo shipments from China to Europe through the Middle Corridor. The main goal is to make the middle corridor more competitive and coordinated. You know that both competitive prices as well as high-quality service are essential and I think that within the framework of a joint company, we will better serve these cargoes", said Levan Davitashvili.
The Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan stated at the forum held in Astana a few days ago that the capacity in the corridor may increase 5 times, and the tariff set by the joint company will not change for 5 years.
