Georgian fashion brand "Dalood" recently opened a new space on Vera, which combines the concept of a cafe with a showroom and offers customers a completely new experience.
Brand founder and creative director Maka Kvitsiani focused attention on its location. As Maka Kvitsiani explains, the first store of Dalood, managed by her mother, Nana Shukvani, was located on Kostava Street. After that, "Dalood" moved to Paliashvili Street in Vake. However, they were always nostalgic for the old place. After a rather long search, she found a historic house on Akhvlediani Street. The process of rehabilitating the house was going on for two years, and they tried as much as possible to preserve its antiquity and original appearance.
During these two years, more than USD 600,000 was spent on the rehabilitation of the house. According to the creative director of "Dalood" , part of this amount is a private investment, while the other share is a loan taken from the bank.
According to Maka Kvitsiani, customers can buy not only clothes but also various things and accessories in the renovated showroom store of "Dalood".
"We have added small interior items, candles, room fragrances, as well as scarves. Now we are adding hats, bags, etc. It is also a novelty that different sizes of clothes are already available on site, and in case of large sizes, we take private orders.
As for the prices. The price policy is not what I would like it to be, but we try very hard to keep the prices so that we do not lose access and do not tailor only for a certain group. The most important thing for me is the Georgian customers, so I take great care of them. Unfortunately, it is not cheap, because the raw materials we use are fully imported, - explains Maka Kvitsiani.
As for the "Dalood" cafe, it is a space designed for about 70 people, which offers customers a diverse range of modern European dishes, including dishes created by the recipes of Maka Kvitsiani herself.
