A new jewelry brand - Épidote appeared on the Georgian market 6 months ago, which accessories are made of natural stones imported from the Philippines.
The startup was launched by two founders, Tamta Devdariani and Nino Machaidze-Dolidze, and they are already offering their fourth collection to their customers. Tamta Devdariani told BMG about the brand's concept and future plans.
"The source of inspiration was the Philippines. It is true that Épidote is a startup started by Georgian women entrepreneurs and everywhere we note that the collections are made for Georgia, the material from which our accessories are made, absolutely everything, including natural stones, is brought from the Philippines.
Our goal was to offer handmade jewelry from natural materials to Georgian ladies. It is also important that not a single jewelry is repeated and we pay great attention to the quality, branding and packaging", says Tamta Devdariani.
Jewelry is sold online, from Facebook and Instagram pages, and prices start from GEL 100 and, depending on the type of accessory, increase to GEL 280.
"We are thinking of organizing an exhibition or participating in it in the near future. After that, we really want to think about a branded stand, perhaps in some shopping center, and we deeply hope that one day it will become a store", says the founder of Épidote, noting that after mastering the Georgian market, the brand is planning to go abroad.
Épidote was created in March 2023 with the personal investment of the founders, and until now 4 people are involved in the production. So far, the brand has brought 4 collections, 90% of which have already been sold.
