AGL Celebrates World Environment Day with a Special Event every year. This year, as a part of the event, a competition was announced for school students from Shuakhevi and Khulo municipalities, focusing on the creative reuse of waste materials. The students were tasked with creating items or models using discarded materials.
,,The competition gained significant interest in schools with numerous applications submitted. Eventually, three standout projects were selected based on their creativity and the variety of materials used.’’- said the company.
The authors of the winning projects were awarded certificates and gifts. They were also given the opportunity to tour the Shuakhevi Hydropower Plant and learn about its operations.
This initiative plays a crucial role in raising environmental awareness and aligns with this year’s global theme: “Ending Plastic Pollution”.
June 5 is celebrated worldwide as World Environment Day, established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972. This year’s campaign focuses on addressing the escalating problem of plastic pollution and encouraging global society to reduce plastic consumption, improve recycling systems, and adopt sustainable alternatives.
