Air cargo shipments hit a record high since 2017.

According to statistics published by the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency, more than 25 thousand tons of cargo were transported by air last year. Compared to 2023, cargo turnover has increased by 25%. Only Tbilisi International Airport has a cargo terminal in Georgia. Accordingly, transportation is carried out only through it.

As for the other data, in 2024, Tbilisi International Airport traditionally was the leader, showing a 29% increase from last year and serving 4,750,425 million passengers; Kutaisi International Airport ranked second with a 3% increase, transferring 1,722,804 million passengers. As for Batumi Airport, which is considered more seasonal, recorded a 53% increase in 2024, serving 951,766 passengers.

The leader of the Georgian aviation market is again the Hungarian budget airline Wizz Air, which transported 1,454,078 million passengers from Kutaisi in 2024. The second place is occupied by the Turkish state-owned company Turkish Airlines, with 553,349 passengers; the third place is occupied by the Turkish budget airline Pegasus, with 546,211 passengers; Georgian Airways is in fourth place with 515,113 passengers; and Azerbaijan Airlines, the state-owned airline of Azerbaijan, is in fifth place with 412,980 passengers.
