A large-scale project, the “Ambassador Aviation Village”, is under development in Kakheti, Georgia, aiming to promote general aviation and air tourism. The 16-hectare site, spearheaded by the Ambassador Group, will feature an aerodrome with primary and secondary runways, hangars, and supporting infrastructure, alongside the construction of private air villas.
Founder Tornike Keburia explained that the project will include a main runway 1,185 meters long and 18 meters wide, and a secondary runway 9 meters wide. The site will host an EASA-accredited flight school, offering courses leading to ultralight aircraft certifications and Private Pilot Licenses (PPL), allowing graduates to fly aircraft seating 2–6 people. A dedicated aviation club will organize airshows, exhibitions, and specialized aviation events.
The village will also include a technical center providing maintenance and hangar services, and a residential area divided into 37 independent plots ranging from 1,500 to 1,850 m². Each plot will feature a two-story villa: the first floor for aircraft hangars and the second for living spaces and verandas. Purchasers will receive plots with approved utilities and building plans, with a construction completion deadline of 18 months.
Construction is actively underway, with major groundwork largely completed. Preparations for hangar construction and villa frameworks are in progress. The project plans to acquire three aircraft for the flight school and aviation tours. The grand opening of the aerodrome is scheduled for September 1, 2026, featuring an airshow with Red Bull Aviation and attendance from representatives of 40 European aviation clubs. Keburia emphasized that the project will become a hub for small aviation in Georgia and the region, combining tourism opportunities with general aviation development.
