Amendments will be made to the COVID-19 testing program in Georgia from March 1, as a result, PCR tests will no longer be funded within the frame of the state program, but the rapid antigen testing program will continue.
The relevant information is published by the Ministry of Health:
"Covid-testing regimes were revised taking into account the current epidemiological situation.
Omicron remains the main variant in the country, but the peak infection rates are down.
Moreover, hospitalization rates are also decreased and most cases are asymptomatic, or with mild symptoms.
Individuals with COVID-19 symptoms who test negative for an antigen test should remain in isolation for at least 5 days. A follow-up management plan should be set in line with the symptoms and clinical condition.
PCR testing is kept only in strategic facilities, for use if necessary, "- the statement reads.
